We all (because we are human) run to God when we are in trouble and he has mercy and then when the problems and suffering ease up a bit we think we can make it without him and turn our backs. I don't think you are a "fake" at all. Just a human being. Look, even King David lusted after Bathsheba and had her husband killed so he could be with her. Each time he turned his back on God he realized his errors and amended his ways. The Psalms are full of David pleading for mercy from God. The one theme I saw in your story that struck me was divorce. I am twice divorced and probably will never marry again - unless God were to bring me someone really special. But I turned my back on God and divorced my first wife to be with another woman. I left my family and my children (not literally because I did see them, but I was not part of their everyday life) and my second marriage was a disaster. She kicked me out and now I have lost my job, I am broke and live with another family member because I cannot support myself. But I think I had to travel down this road to find my way back to God. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you understand what Grace really means. Our stories are similar in many ways though I am much older than you. I just want to assure you that God is love. He loves you unconditionally - He does not love with human love - He loves you whether you do right or wrong. There is a verse which says HE LOVED US WHEN WE WERE SINNERS. HE LOVES YOU DEARLY, LOVE IS HIS NATURE. So do not allow the devil to tell you anything is your fault because 1. John 10v10 says The THIEF comes to STEAL, KILL AND DESTROY, but I have come that they may have LIFE and HAVE IT TO THE FULL. This means that it is the devil and not God who steals, kills and destroys. So do not let the devil blame you for all the stealing he has been doing in your family. 2. Have you confessed Jesus as Lord and saviour believing that He died and paid the price for your sins? If you have not, just pray believing in your heart and say "Lord Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins, come into my life and be the Lord of my life, and thereafter you are a born again child of God. Once you have prayed this, it means YOU HAVE BECOME THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD because Jesus paid for all your sins in the cross. God has thrown all your sins in the sea of forgetfulness and He remembers them no more. 3. 2 cor 5v17 Your spirit inside your body has now been born again,and YOU ARE A NEW CREATION, OLD THINGS HAVE PASSED AWAY. Refuse to think about old mistakes, they are all cleaned with the blood of Jesus. 4. Relate with God as your Father and remember that He loves you unconditionally not only when you do good or right. 5. When you have made a mistake, confess it and He forgives and forgets immediately.
